What is Feng Shui?

Feng Shui (pronounced fuhng shwey), is a very ancient art that started around 3,000 years ago in China. In simple words it's the practice of enhancing the energy (Chi) in one’s environment, such as home, office and/or land. The Taoists, and even science, today believe that land is filled with energy, as well as us humans, are made up mostly of energy vibrating at very fast frequencies.

The art of Feng Shui has been used for thousands of years to assess the flow of energy in a given space.

This tool will give an indication where the energy is stagnant or thriving. When the energy is stagnant (or stuck) it has the potential to cause disharmony, misfortune and sickness to the inhabitants. Therefore once this energy is balanced it can bring harmony, good health and abundance to anyone living in that space. Essentially Feng Shui is the interaction between humans and their environments.

It’s important to know that there are different types of Feng Shui’s schools. Classical Feng Shui is the traditional Eastern practice and it consists of the following:

Form School: This form is used to observe the visual shapes and contours of the environment, including the mountains, terrains, topography, lakes, rivers, and other bodies of water, as well as man-made objects, such as nearby buildings and roads. Greatly useful if you are looking for a block of land, to build/rent a home, office building, school, or landmark way before you begin to consider the architectural and interior design of the property.

Compass School and Flying Stars: While Form School focuses mostly on the physical landscape; Compass School focuses mostly on assessing the energies that cannot be seen with the naked eye. Whereas, Flying Stars and Eight Mansion Feng Shui are influenced by time and is considered the most influential method used to assess the movement of good and bad luck under the influence of Yin and Yang energy in a home or business. This is done by creating the flying star chart which consists of 9 numbers in the Lo Shu Square. The information we gain from the chart will give us an indication of where positive energy need to be enhanced.

Geomancy Divination: Another very old Feng Shui technique that I use to clear a space is Geomancy Divination (also known as Earth Acupuncture). This method deals with the subtle energies of the earth and its relationship to humans and their environment. Certain tools are used to enhance and clear energy that is stagnant due to Geopathic stress, daily pollutants as well as negative historic and psychic imprints.
